Hello and Welcome! This week we are creating Masculine Cards at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Heidi is our hostess.
I've been on an alcohol ink/Yupo paper roll and thought I would do a masculine sympathy card. I love the unpredictability of alcohol inks but I wanted to create a sunset background where the sun was setting over trees and a lake. I like the end result. The tree is a die from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is my favorite for sympathy cards: My Sentiments Exactly - Sympathy.
I am entering my card in:
UPDATE: My card was selected as "Featured Artist" for the As You See It Challenge.

This is absolutely gorgeous, Karen, and I think you have been very successful in creating the picture you intended to. I am in love with the sentiment. I'd love to know where it's from. Stephanie slan.zal@verizon.net
ReplyDeleteI love this sentiment too...it is my go-to sentiment for sympathy cards. It is called Sympathy from My Sentiments Exactly.
DeleteSuch a beautiful and colourful card! Thanks for joining CAS on Friday! Hugs Åsa
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your alcohol ink background - it does suggest what you wanted to show. The addition of the skeletal white tree, combined with the clean white base make your card a CAS wonder! Thank you for joining in with us at As You See It Challenge.
ReplyDeleteStunning card Karen!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful alcohol ink and Yupo creation, Karen. You managed those colours so well, creating the illusion of the sunset, trees and lake just as you planned to. Nicely done! The die-cut tree is the perfect addition along with that lovely sentiment.
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning background AI panel, perfect behind that die cut.
ReplyDeleteSuch a unique and stunning card....I love it x.
ReplyDeleteKaren, despite the unpredictability of alcohol ink backgrounds, you've created a stunningly creative and appropriate scene for your die cut! Love that sentiment, too! Thank you for adding your beautiful card to our gallery at As You See It Challenges this week!
ReplyDeleteYour alcohol inked background is stunning, Karen! Love that simple sentiment, just perfect!
