WWC243 - Heidi's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge

Alcohol Ink, Yupo paper sunset.
Hello and Welcome! This week we are creating Masculine Cards at the  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and Heidi is our hostess.

I've been on an alcohol ink/Yupo paper roll and thought I would do a masculine sympathy card.  I love the unpredictability of alcohol inks but I wanted to create a sunset background where the sun was setting over trees and a lake.  I like the end result.  The tree is a die from Simon Says Stamp.  The sentiment is my favorite for sympathy cards:  My Sentiments Exactly - Sympathy.

I am entering my card in:

UPDATE:  My card was selected as "Featured Artist" for the As You See It Challenge.

Tree + Alcohol Ink

Hello there!  I saw that Allsorts was having a Trees and Leaves Challenge and I knew just what I wanted to create.
Alcohol Ink Sympathy Card

First I created an alcohol ink panel on Yupo paper.  I was going for a sunset background and I  really like how the panel turned out.  Next, I used Simon Says Stamps Tree Frame die for the cover.  I stamped my sentiment (My Sentiments Exactly) and was done.

I am so pleased you stopped by!

Sympathy Card

Hello and welcome! I was in need of some sympathy cards and I thought it might be nice to create a little scene using the bench from a stamp and die set (WPlus9 New Home) that just arrived in the mail.
Sympathy Card using Altenew Garden Grow, Hero Arts January 2019 My Monthly Hero and WPlus9 New Home.
I wanted to pair it with two of my go-to stamp and die sets:  Altenew Garden Grow and Hero Arts January 2019 My Monthly Hero.  I started by stamping a background using SSS Sketchy Lines Background Stamp.  From black cardstock, I die cut the sentiment (SSS) twice and then glued together.  I Copic colored the potted plants, then die cut, assembled and adhered to the background using foam tape.

As You See It Challenge.  My "go to" dies that I use most often are Altenew's Garden Grow and My Monthly Hero January 2019.  I love to use them both in scene cards.

WWC234 - Dawn's "All About Occasions" Challenge

Hello and welcome! This week it is all about occasions at  Watercooler Wednesday and I decided to increase my stock of Sympathy cards.  I find it easier to make them before they are needed.
I die-cut this pretty scripty sentiment from a yupo/alcohol ink sheet and then simply framed it.  I like the clean simple lines.

Supplies:
Yupo paper
Alcohol Inks
SSS With Sympathy die
MFT Stitched Rectangle die (Stax set 2)

Twofer Garden Cards

Hello and thank your stopping by!  The theme this month at The Twofer Challenge is "Garden".  I doubled up on the garden theme by using  botanical stamps and dies and secondly, by dry-embossing using a stencil called Garden Leaves (Dylusions). Fun fact...this was the first stencil I ever purchased.
The sympathy card is more subdued with just one image combined with the dry embossed stitched accent panel.  When I made the card, the blue violet flower reminded me of a button or decorative snap. I am entering this card in Clean and Simple on Friday's "Use a Stencil" Challenge  I used the Dylusions Garden Leaves stencil to dry emboss an accent panel.

The second card is a bright vibrant birthday card with multiple images and texture. I am entering this card in The Dies R Us "Birthday" Challenge  I used WPlus9 Doodle Bud dies and MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle die for the accent panel.

The photo above shows the dry embossing better.  I am entering this card in The Happy Little Stampers "Anything Goes With Dies" Challenge and Little Red Wagon "Stitched" Challenge.  I used MFT's stitched die to emphasize the accent panel.

Supplies:
  • WPlus9 Doodle Buds stamps and coordinating dies
  • Ranger Ink Dylusions Garden Leaves Stencil
  • MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX set 2 die
  • Memento Ink
  • Neenah Cardstock
  • Signo Uniball white pen
  • Foam Tape Adhesive
  • Copic Markers
UPDATE:  I just discovered that I won the prize in the Dies R Us Challenge!
