Giraffe Baby Shower Card

I am going to a baby shower and the theme is giraffes.
Simon Says Stamp Stacking Animals giraffe
My friend's daughter is having a little girl so I went with a pink and yellow color theme.  SSS's Stacking animals is one of my favorite stamps sets and the giraffe always makes me smile.

I started by watercoloring a background panel with Rose Madder on Ranger Watercolor paper.  I colored the silly giraffe with Copic RV04, Y00, Y06 and Y08 and then die cut.

My idea was to have the giraffe peeking out of a circle die cut window with the pink background.   I stamped the Stamping Bella (Baby Carriage) sentiment added some Pretty Pink Posh jewels and paired with a bright pink envelop.  This card came together very quickly.

WWC214 - Marsha's "All About Occasions" Challenge

Easter is getting closer so I thought is was time to make a card or two.  This week's Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is "All About Occasions" so this was the perfect time to get started.

Easter bunny card.
This was a cute little "freebie" stamp I received from Stamps of Life (Somebunny).  I  thought these small images would be very cute stamped and flipped in a pattern stamp background.    I stamped using a block and then colored with copics (RV00, RV23, YG00, YG01, B0000, B00, Y00, Y08 and W0 for the ears).  I added a few gel pen accents and Pretty Pink Posh jewels in coordinating colors.  I embossed the darling sentiment and adhered with some foam tape.

Update:  My card was selected as a Tuesday Throwdown "Top Pick"!  Many thanks to this fun challenge.

WWC213 - Karen's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge

What a day....it is my turn to host Watercooler Wednesday's Anything Goes Masculine Challenge!  I am very excited.  :-)

Image may contain: one or more people and text

I recently purchased a die cutting machine (Gemini Junior) and ordered this fun die cutting set from Spellbinders.  This card is for my new son-in-law.  He drives a pick-up truck, so I thought this would be perfect for him.

I started by die cutting a kraft card base (Sugar Pea Design Builder).  I used Nuvo Hot Cholcolate embossing powder for the sentiment (Ranger Letter It Birthday).  Next, I cut out all the truck pieces using Bohemia Blue Bird "All Boy" card stock (coordinating double sided paper).   I enjoyed the die cutting and paper selection.  I wanted dimension so I used foam tape for the truck body and then an additional layer of foam tape for the license plate and bumper.  I tucked in a few gifts die cut from scrap paper I had left over.  The ribbons on two of the packages are light green but they did not photograph well.

Cardz 4 Guyz "To Die for Challenge"  I lost track of how many dies I used on this card, but I think my son-in-law will really like the card.

Happy Little Stampers "Die" Challenge  I've never made a card with so many dies before, it was kind of like doing a fun puzzle.

The Male Room "Do It Yourself Challenge"  This card is for my son-in-law. He drives a pickup and for Christmas he asked for tools so he could do maintenance and repairs himself.  So we got him a variety of DIY tools.

Brown Sugar Transportation Challenge - A pick-up is my husband's primary mode of transportation.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  I think this little pick-up is as "cute" as can be!

Thanks for stopping by!  I truly hope to see your masculine creation on the Watercooler Website.

Seaside Village Watercolor Card

I had the idea of creating a 3D seaside village for my aunt's birthday.  She loves watercoloring so that is the technique I chose.    I love this beautiful Art Impressions Shoppes stamp set.
Art Impressions Shoppes Stamp set.
Village Shoppes
I started by stamping the two shoppes with grey ink on Ranger Watercolor paper.  Then I used my new watercolors to bring my scene to life. Next, I took another panel of watercolor paper and created my background.   After the shop images were dry, I fussy-cut and used foam tape to adhere to the background panel.    Last, I stamped the sentiment (WPlus9 - Doodle Buds) in the sky area.

I am happy with the card and hope Aunt Nancy will like it.

I have more fun with this Polkadoodles "Hanging Out" stamp set.  I made a baby shower card and this is a card I made for a cousin's birthday.

I embossed the image on Ranger Distress Watercoler Paper and then started painting away with my new Kuretake watercolors.  I embossed a sentiment and assembled onto an A2 card.

I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp "Feminine/Girly" Challenge.  The card is for my female
cousin.

I am also entering the card in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday "Whatever the Weather" Challenge.  It is spring and I thought this darling card is perfect for the season.

I really enjoyed creating this card and I am so pleased that you stopped by.

WWC211 - Kath's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

I always love our "Feminine" Challenge prompts!  Please be sure to pop over to The Watercooler Website to see what the other Artists have created this week.

I have a fondness for pattern stamping, and when I received a new stamp set for Christmas, I thought this brightly colored layout would work well.  I used my new Inkblot Shop This & That stamp set along with images from SSS Hello Friends and Photoplay Thinking of You.

I started by embossing the sentiment (Ranger Letter It Birthday)  on Bristol paper.  I then worked out from the sentiment and embossed the larger images first. Next I went in and filled in with the smaller details.  I colored/watercolored with Tombow Dual Tip markers and I like how bold the black embossing combined with the bright watercolor markers turned out.  I finished by adding a few black sequins to this otherwise one layer card.

I really liked this layout and wanted to try it using different coloring techniques to see which I liked best.

  1. Today's card is embossed and water colored with Tombow markers
  2. I did a Blog Post in January showing the same layout colored with Copic markers.
  3. Inktense colored pencils
  4. Kuretake Watercolors.
In the end, the Tombow markers and Copics were my favorite two.

If you look at both, leave me a comment and let me know whether you like the Copic or
Tombow version best.

Create A Smile Guest Designer - Spring Citrus

It's citrus season here in Texas and that inspired me to make a bright cheery citrus themed card.  I was invited to be a Guest Designer for Create-A-Smile stamps and I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Fruit Salad.  For this card, I chose to use only the citrus stamps.  The theme for their current challenge is "Stamp a Background".

Watercolor stamped background in yellow and lime green.

I started by embossing the three citrus images on Brisol cardstock.  Next, I used my Kuretake Watercolors to paint a watery lemon-yellow base and then dropped in more concentrated lemon yellow.  I wanted a messy watercolor background so the lime green (sap green light) was placed here and there.

I let the panel dry overnight and then I used a stitched die to trim the card down slightly.  I also cut an interior stitched frame out of white cardstock.  I glued the white frame and the watercolor panel to a white A2 card.  I die cut the "thanks" sentiment twice, glued them together and placed it at the bottom of the frame.

Rainbow Card "Yellow Challenge"  My first time to enter this challenge...mostly yellow with a bit of yellow-green splashed in.

Pile it On Favorite Color Challenge I just love the color yellow because it is so happy and warm.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge It is citrus season in Texas so it is sunny and warm.  :-)

I love how bright and happy this card turned out.

Pink Dress Shop Scene Card

I've combined two of my favorite stamps sets (My Monthly Hero:  April 2017 and January 2019) to create this pink scene confection.  The card is girly and feminine and is for one of my BFFs.
Handmade Dress Shop Scene Card

I started by applying Distress Ink Spun Sugar over my bricked layering stencil.  Next I stamped the  Hero Arts Images, colored with Copic markers and then die cut.I'd left the "window" uncolored, and after die cutting, I applied Distress Ink Spun Sugar with a hint of Pickled Raspberry. Then I assembled my scene using foam tape.
Spun Sugar Distress Ink.
A Blog Named Hero Challenge  I love this card because it combines two of my favorite Hero Arts Stamp Sets:  My Monthly Hero April, 2017 and My Monthly Hero January, 2019.

Addicted to Stamps Photo Inspiration- I was drawn to the color scheme in this photo inspiration:  pinks, aqua and neutrals with a hint of purple.

Dar and Diane "Pink and White Challenge"  I was drawn to the soft pink, white and gray on the mood board.

Just Us Girls Birthday Challenge - Like Vicki, I am in need of a bunch of birthday cards, so this prompt was perfect for me!
